Service Position Descriptions
Treasurer
5 years sobriety requirement, 1 year commitment, election held in June
Keeps books makes reports at monthly business meetings and includes a printed copy of the report. Disburses funds above prudent reserve. Reimburses other members with commitments for their expenses.
Assistant Treasurer
4 years sobriety requirement, 1 year commitment, June
Collects monies from safe and makes regular deposits. Assumes the responsibilities as the Treasurer for the business meeting in their absence.
Birthday Night Representative #1
2 Year sobriety requirement, 1 year commitment, June
Gets speaker for Birthday Speakers meeting (someone from out of town). Can take them to dinner ($30 max for speaker). Facilitate the meeting by having greeters and readers. Pass the 7th Tradition and place in safe (no H&I). Upon closing of the meeting be sure that the room is restored to the way it was and sundries are stocked for the morning meeting.
Birthday Night Representative #2
1 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Supplies birthday chips and card and cake for Birthday Speaker Meetings. Presents birthday chips, gives out hugs to celebrants and leads group in singing of “Happy Birthday”. Replenishes supplies and submits all receipts for purchases to the Treasurer. Assists the Birthday Representative at Birthday Meeting. Assumes the responsibilities as the Birthday Representative for the business meeting in their absence.
Zoom Birthday Night Rep
2 year sobriety requirement, 1 year commitment, June
In charge of running the monthly Zoom birthday night every 2nd Saturday of month at 5:30 pm and mailing chips to attendees who request them. Finding speakers to share for 45 mins.
Events Coordinator
5 Years sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Oversees planning Events and Marathon meeting during the holidays. There are two big Events the Halloween Party and the Anniversary Picnic. Then Marathon Meetings at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
Events Treasurer
5 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June elected in events meeting.
Keeps books for the events committee.
Events Recording Secretary
2 Years sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June Is elected in events meeting.
Takes detailed notes of the event meetings and prepares a detailed report for the next meeting. The “Minutes” of the previous business meeting should be made available for everyone attending.
Contra Costa IGR
2 Years sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Carries our group conscience to the monthly Intergroup meeting and announces any upcoming events put on by Intergroup as well as any needs for service at the local level. Makes report to monthly business meeting.
Alternate Contra Costa IGR
1 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Assists the Contra Costa IGR with duties and assumes the responsibilities as the IGR for the business meeting in their absence.
East Bay Inter Group Representative
2 Years sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Carries our group conscience to the monthly Intergroup meeting and announces any upcoming events put on by Intergroup as well as any needs for service at the local level. Makes report to monthly business meeting.
Alternate East Bay IGR
1 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Assists the East Bay IGR with duties and assumes the responsibilities as the IGR for the business meeting in their absence.
Hybrid Coordinator
1 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of hybrid equipment for the monthly business meeting, act as hybrid host and the active arrangement of co-hosts as needed. Maintains hybrid equipment which includes repair and replacement as needed
Assistant Hybrid Coordinator
1 Year sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Assists the Hybrid Coordinator with all duties and assumes the responsibilities at the monthly business meeting when the Hybrid Coordinator is not available.
Zoom Administrator
2 Years sobriety requirement, 1 Year commitment, June
Responsible for the management and control of the ESF Fellowship Zoom Account. This includes ensuring Zoom updates are performed in a timely manner as well as being the point of contact for system issues associated with the platform.
Public Information / Cooperation with the Professional Community Representative (PI/CPC)
2 year sobriety suggestion, 1 year commitment, June
Public Information (PI) committees in Alcoholics Anonymous are responsible for carrying the message of recovery to the still suffering alcoholic by informing the general public about the A.A. program. Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC) committees provides information about AA to those who have contact with alcoholics through their respective professions. The Area PI/CPC committee meets on the 4th Saturday of each month.
